A glazed link between a grade II-listed Georgian terrace and a Victorian warehouse
The architect has created a new link entirely in glass.
The glass roof panels are supported by the glass wall sections.
The original garden wall has been lined with insulation, and forms one side of the corridor.
The original terracotta black and red floor tiles were carefully removed and reclaimed - with matching tiles sourced to mix in with and to replace damaged tiles. A new slab was cast incorporating underfloor heating, and the tiles put back down.
A rainwater channel has been hidden in the tiles, just below the glass, to ensure a seamless transition from inside to outside.
The glass is of double film 'heat mirror' type, giving a thermal performance of an insulated wall. The space is fully heated but with very little heat loss.
