Refurbishment of existing early 20th Century outbuilding

This project includes the conversion of an existing outbuilding within the grounds of an Arts and Crafts house into a study.

The outbuilding had sufficient height into the apex of the roof to investigate the possibility of including a small mezzanine. The mezzanine sits above a shower room and boot room behind the study.

Given the small footprint of the building and the brief to design a bespoke piece of joinery, the oak desk and shelving incorporates a staircase giving access to above.

Large folding sliding doors provide light and access to the landscaped patio area. A glazed link connects the converted study to the main house. This together with a rear extension with rooflights and more folding sliding doors ensures all areas are light and airy with exceptional visual links to the beautiful garden.
