Single storey linear timber structured holiday home in a rural site within the New Forest National Park
The bedrooms face east at one end while the living spaces face west with the entrance and service areas between the two. The master bedroom occupies the northern end of the house. A transverse wall separates a gravelled arrival court from the garden and living spaces beyond.
The living area and bedrooms feature recessed openings to minimise solar gain in the summer and provide good daylight in winter.
The floor, walls and roof are made from cross-laminated prefabricated timber panels. They are externally insulated and clad with sweet chestnut. Dark Danish linear bricks are used for the chimney and plinth.
