Clay House
Clay House by Pensaer exemplifies a sustainable and client focused approach to residential design, integrating natural materials and sculptural architectural elements.
Inspired by the idea of a ‘warm welcoming’, the design focuses on bringing harmony between materials and a muted colour palette to create an inviting home to relax and unwind. The extension features a skylit kitchen, diffusing soft light into the space, and dining area framed by timber beams, creating rhythm and depth throughout. Warm oak joinery contrasts with polished concrete floors, achieving a modern yet inviting atmosphere. A dynamic window seat seamlessly connects the interior to the garden, enhancing natural light and reinforcing the home's relationship with the outdoors, which also includes colourful garden beds and built-in seating. With a long procession, the architecture provides multiple areas to linger, sit, relax, and work. Through daily use, it allows ample opportunity for mindful interactions as you move through the house. This project is the result of a close collaboration between architects, engineers, and skilled craftsmen, all working to achieve a low-carbon, cost-effective solution without compromising on aesthetics or functionality. Designed for longevity, the home incorporates durable materials that enhance its visual appeal and support environmental sustainability. Each element, from the carefully selected finishes to the strategic placement of windows, contributes to an experience that is both tranquil and invigorating, making Clay House a perfect sanctuary for modern living.
