A new kitchen, meeting room and lounge for existing tenants of The Tea Factory

The staff kitchen on the first floor of the Tea Factory was coming to the end of its life.

It had once been an elegant, minimal space but 15 years of use had taken their toll and it was starting to look tired.

Rather than simply replacing like with like, Urban Splash asked Shedkm to provide tenants with more than a kitchen. A generous lounge and meeting room were included in the brief and a challenge to bring the buildings impressive but often empty atrium to life was set.
