Expansion to Ashfield Healthcare's headquarters and training centre with the addition of a second floor rooftop pavilion
To increase both the building's training facilities, and associated management and services support, the existing first floor was extended over a balancing pond situated adjacent to the building.
The first floor expansion continues the existing central 'boulevard' with the addition of new training rooms and services, including enlarged kitchen and restaurant provisions, toilets and circulation - this consists of a new training facilities reception, escape core, feature staircase and lift.
Additional management facilities are placed above as part of a second floor pavilion, which incorporates open plan break-out space, meeting rooms, insular offices and a central storage.
The envelope of the 'penthouse' incorporates a chamfered elevation, that provides solar protection to the south facing glazing, and an external terrace to the north.
