A whole house refurbishment to a once cramped and unwelcoming space in North London.
This whole house refurbishment reintroduces a sense of clarity to the property, carefully rearranging floor levels to maximise ceiling heights and create a series of unique spaces.
What was previously a cramped and disregarded kitchen has been replaced with a large, open-plan kitchen and dining area. Lowering the floor level of this space and the adjacent garden created a more celebrated area and allowed for a subtle division between the front of the house and the rear.
Three double doors open from the kitchen within exposed brick walls to give access to the tiled rear patio, providing adequate daylight levels while negating unnecessary glare. A modest, strategically placed roof light also optimises glazing to frame specific views of nature.
Prior Notification Planning Application ensured that the refurbishment progressed without hassle, allowing for a series of contemporary spaces that suited the client’s needs to be created while preserving the building’s integrity.
