This project began its life in a nice little boozer in North London, All projects should start this way over a few jars of Ale and some ‘’archi’’ chat. We were introduced to the client though friends of friends in the pub that day, a lovely your couple with a small baby at the time, they had already obtained planning permission and wanted to commission a design workshop/surgery for DHaus to come in and work up the proposed 2D plans that were hand drawn in to full high-res 3D stills and animations of the proposed design, This process was a lot of fun and shows that DHaus offer many different services, We can hold your hand right from the very start of a project all the way to practical completion.

Or we can do what we did here which is to: come in after planning permission, work up the design through a series of client/architect design inspiration workshops. These workshops was a really fun and fascinating way of understanding what the client wanted to achieve. we discussed thousands of images from their Pinterest boards. The client also expressed that they wanted this to also be their project in terms of involvement, they really wanted to be a part of every process as a project manager/design role, which again we guided them through, We sourced manufacturers and products and managed the tender process which we organised and introduced them to sets of independent but highly recommended contractors.

The Architecture: The main link to the new loft space is so special, we developed the clients vision of this minimal floating staircase that takes you up to the newly renovated loft. Once in this new space, a beautiful new bathroom and extra versatile living space is then linked to the roof terrace, which we continued the same stair language high up in to the sky and the views are absolutely spectacular, minimal frameless glass has been used everywhere and we are delighted with the way the project has come out and very grateful to the client for the opportunity to work on this.

An automatic iPhone app controlled giant skylight can be opened at a touch of a button, and has that James bond feel to it, We also interrogated the existing floor below, adding a new bathroom and completely opened up the spaces, removing walls to allow triple aspect views to the outside and allowed even more light to come in to the new kitchen/living room.
