Extension and refurbishment of a Victorian terrace house in South West London
When re-modelling the house, the architect used the opportunity to showcase some of its design ideas, particularly the introduction of long views through the house and extensive use of glass both for the full width sliding rear doors and the frameless glass rooflight over the kitchen.
The rooflight forms the centrepoint of the house maximizing the feeling of light and spaciousness.
Part of the brief was to minimize the amount of outdoor space lost due to the ground floor rear addition, so a roof terrace was introduced at loft level providing extensive views across south west London and much needed evening light into the property.
