Artist Studio

Studio 1 of 71 Stepney Green is situated within a grade II-listed gatehouse of the former Stepney Jewish School. The school was originally built by Davis & Emanuel in 1906.

The spaces of Studio 1 where previously used as headmaster's study, kitchen and secretarial until 1971 and since then unaltered as artist studios since their take over by Bridget Riley with Space Studios.

The aim of our development was to minimize impact on the old fabric and improve the access and sustainability of the space for residential use.
