Jewellery studio in the Bermondsey Conservation Area to provide a headquarters for a growing international business
The studio consists of a three-storey addition to an existing Edwardian single-storey shop front at the end of a terrace near London Bridge. The scheme places a boutique store on the ground floor with a studio, workshop and meeting room above topped with a roof terrace. A space for heavy machinery has been built in the basement.
The addition is constructed with a prefabricated cross-laminated timber structure, that was erected in two days, and clad in a hand-finished zinc rain screen. The building structure is constructed entirely from prefabricated structural timber panels.
