Multi-purpose educational space

The Qube specialise in eco-friendly, sustainable modular buildings for the education sector.

Installed for Dove House Academy, Basingstoke, the building acts as a perfect example of our ‘thinking outside the box’ mentality thus raising schools expectations for learning spaces.

Head teacher Colin House and bursar Cheryl Abdi gave us the opportunity to create and install a multifunctional space of individual design character which has now become one of the Qube’s showcase projects.

Used as computer facility and workshop, the big twist of fun here was cladding the exterior of our S.I.P structure (Structural Insulated Panel system) with a pearlescent paint- finished recycled volcanic rock panelled material which constantly transforms the character of the building depending on angle of light.

As the principle designer for The Qube I had great fun designing with the cladding material in mind as it ultimately influences the architectural character and functionality of the building itself.
