Remodelling of a three storey Bermondsey townhouse
A complete remodel of an unassuming three storey Bermondsey townhouse, this project provides a new kitchen extension, staircase, windows, en-suite wet rooms, under floor heating and a whole house entertainment system.
This project provides a new kitchen extension, staircase, windows, en-suite wet rooms, under floor heating and a whole house entertainment system.
The ground floor extension consists of large bi-folding doors, frameless opening roof lights, a sedum rood and cedar cladding.
By re-orientating key functions, better use of orientation, aspect, an enhanced relationship with the garden is achieved.
High quality materials including limestone, slate and American white oak specified throughout the house enhance the link between spaces.
A crafted oak staircase plays with the idea of solid and void, a solid piece of furniture on the ground floor, concealing integrated an storage space and wc, above a light weight stair inverts its treads to mirror the stair below, maximising light transmittance and enhancing the buildings natural flow.
