The project involved a contemporary extension within the ruin walls of a scheduled monument
It also included the conversion of a cattle shed within the curtilage of a Grade 2 listed victorian property in the heart of Northamptonshire.
The overriding concept behind the proposal was a 'building within a building' whereby a contemporary intervention would sit within the historic walls of the ruin to celebrate the site's rich heritage.
An honest palette of materials was used, including corten steel, oak, and reclaimed brick. A majority of the materials were up-cycled and sourced on site which was both sustainable and cost effective.
