Single storey extension to a three storey edwardian detached house replacing an existing conservatory
The clients were looking for an exciting and dynamic extension for a new kitchen, dining, family space as well as incorporating a new utility space and refurbishing adjacent ground floor lounge area. The clients were also keen to improve the energy efficiency of the house external insulation has been added to the rear and side facades and the extension was designed to a high thermal performance.
The final scheme has a zinc standing seam roof, triangular rooflight and large sliding glazed doors. The extension is angled to respond to the existing bay window and connect to the garden and external patio area, the rear is south facing so an aluminum briese soliel was designed with pattern detailing picking up and complementing the internal decoration and the existing edwardian leaded lights. The completed extension is a beautiful light and vibrant space.
