Side return and refurbishment of Victorian terraced house
This Victorian house side return extension uses a series of angled bronze-plated fins to create privacy and drama to what would otherwise be a standard layout.
Iridescent bricks and polished concrete floors are paired with white walls and Italian lighting design to create a refined composition that is a thorough re-imagining of the terraced house.
It was important to have large areas of white walls with spotlights to highlight the client's art collection, creating the extension as a gallery and sculpture.
The front rooms are largely preserved with original wall panels and new modern suspended bookshelves for the client's large art book collection.
