AHR's new office for Blackpool Council at Talbot Gateway aims to tackle the town's decline and act as a beacon for urban renewal
The five-storey office building at Talbot Gateway in Blackpool by AHR forms part of an overall redevelopment of the local area.
The proposed BREEAM ‘Excellent’ rated office comprises of 7,896m2 net internal office floor area, along with ground floor retail and office accommodation and associated plant accommodation at ground and on the roof.
To achieve the EPC rating of A the design of the building was thermally modelled and tested to allow the façade design to develop, optimising daylight penetration into the office space whilst the provision of vertical fin solar shading reduces the solar load on the south east and south west façades.
