Music department for the University of Birmingham
The music department completes Webb & Bell Grade II* listed Chancellor’s Court semi-circular block at the University of Birmingham.
The building provides a new flexible 450-seat concert hall and accommodates the whole music department. This includes the Centre for Early Music Performance and Research (CEMPR), electroacoustic music studios, rehearsal rooms, practice rooms and office accommodation. It is also home to Birmingham’s Electroacoustic Sound Theatre (BEAST).
The steel framed building is clad in brick to complement the existing crescent.
