Conversion of four steel portal frame storage sheds into a new teaching facility for the RSAMD

The building is internally divided in two. At the north end of the site, and accessed through the Garscube Road entrance, are four toplit dance rehearsal studios focused around a timber clad internal court, with health and fitness facilities and teaching rooms.

The southern part of the building, entered from Corn Street, is occupied with a new technical teaching facility including scenery, timber, paint and wardrobe workshops as well as student teaching rooms. Large storage rooms free up space at RSAMD's Renfrew Street facility.

Externally a new aluminium seam roof incorporates large areas of rooflights to provide natural light and provide fresh air intake and exhaust. The Garscube Road elevation has been overclad with a half round steel, combined with large areas of painted brick and signage.
