The 5,000 sqft expansion of Work.Life’s Holborn based site seamlessly blends with the previously existing space,

creating the ultimate high-end, sophisticated co-working space that remains true to Work.Life’s style and brand identity. It was important that the space was reflective of its location. The themed meeting rooms allowed the design team to encapsulate key locations within the Holborn area. The Hatton Garden meeting room was carefully curated to pay homage to the diamond district. This was achieved through lighting, decorative accessories and integrated typography artworks. The second meeting room sought to be representative of the biophilic nature of Lincoln’s Inn Fields, the largest public square in London. This was achieved through the integration of associated artworks and accessories. Due to this being an expansion project, the team were required to navigate a live site, ensuring the safety of residents and minimizing disturbance from noise. As a result, a strict schedule was created to ensure that public disruption was kept to a minimum whilst ensuring the project was completed on time. The team were faced with several challenges during the project, the integration of exposed services to the corridor on the second floor for example required a partial ceiling removal. Grills along the back walls of the newly converted meeting rooms posed obstacles for decorative finishes as well as the positioning of the AV equipment. Due to not being able to paint the grills, the team came up with the idea to purchase vinyl in the same colour as the walls. By cutting the vinyl to fit over the grills, a seamless look was achieved without compromising the overall functionality. Overall, through careful planning and creative solutions, the team successfully completed the Work.Life Holborn expansion, whilst incorporating the desired features and preserving the seamless look and feel of the original space.
