Office headquarters and associated services for 3000 staff in the centre of Brighton

The 12-storey office block includes a staff restaurant, underground car park, gymnasium, conference centre and meeting rooms. A terrace runs the full length of the south elevation, with two dedicated areas for outdoor seating providing views of the south coast.

At ground floor level, the main double height entrance extends along the street frontages with feature pendant lighting. The floor is terraced internally to better relate to the street level externally. A café is located in this area, for staff and visitors to use all day, providing an interesting environment viewed from the street.

Internal curves throughout the building create a smooth transition from the secure reception space into the building. Perimeter coffer lighting assists the flow and linking of the entrance with the core and other parts of the building.

The building achieved a BREEAM rating of Very Good achieved through the use of gas fired combined heat & power; active façade treatment; photovoltaic panels; rainwater harvesting and provisions for future connection to a wider district heating area network.
