Refurbishment of a Grade II listed former church and adjacent parish hall to provide an exhibition space and support facilities
The top and underside of the nave roof in the 190 metre long exhibition space have been refurbished, interior lighting and electrical services installed – where none previously existed – and the vandalised leaded lights of the nave windows have been encased between sheets of clear polycarbonate.
The ivy-covered parish hall, the roof of which had collapsed, has been extensively remodeled - services have been comprehensively replaced, and utilities, in the shape of a changing room, WC, store and boiler room, have been added.
The north-facing wall of the hall has been replaced with a fully glazed elevation of sliding doors, shielded by a security screen which doubles as a hydraulically operated canopy. This 10.5m wide lifting gate high creates a full width entrance located directly off a newly landscaped area within the park.
