Hampstead Garden Suburb Pavilion

AT the same time the decaying exterior rendering of the house was renewed and all the original single glazed steel windows were replaced to match with double-glazing. The context allowed he extension to be treated as a pavilion symmetrical about both axes and allowing windows to face in all directions. The projecting concrete canopy over the front entrance of the original house provided inspiration for a similar feature on the extension. With its three corner windows and the organisation of its structural rendered-brick piers some inspiration was taken from the contemporary work of Frank Lloyd Wright.
