An interactive, flexible and unique teaching space for the children and teachers to work in; complete with LCD screens and a colour changing, light up stretch ceiling, all encapsulated within a curved, glazed wall
TMV Architects worked alongside the furniture designers (Envoplan) to create the bespoke furniture used throughout the department. Height adjustable tables allow for use when both sitting and standing, whilst lightweight free-standing pouffes allow for easy movability, helping to create the flexible teaching environment. The school pantones have been highlighted throughout the design, particularly within the furniture, to add colour to the space, whilst also tying it in with the rest of the site’s aesthetic.
Furthermore, the curved glazed wall which surrounds the space can be drawn on making it a feature for the space, but also interactive for the students. Together this creates an immersive sensory environment for children to learn in, which has helped to make it the most successful element of the wider science block refurbishment. The new iCreate space has become an educational hub at the heart of the state-of-the-art science department.
