Retrofit of the redundant upper floors of two 1960s buildings to create 1650m2 of flexible affordable office space
The key project aim was to transform the visually dilapidated buildings to create flexible office accommodation over three levels while retaining the local successful shop businesses at ground floor.
The concrete framed buildings required extensive repair and a new facade to the main street elevation. The resulting building capitalises on the spatial possibilities offered by the buildings and seeks to retain and reinvent this local landmark through the use of art and lighting to the rear facade adjacent to Bridgeton Railway station.
