Children’s centre combined with an established nursery with daycare provision
Central to the Children's Centre was a shared vision to continue the legacy created by a well loved community nursery. It provides a fully integrated service to local families with young children.
The form of the building is one component within a campus of old and new buildings, anchored around a garden at the heart of the site.
The building snakes around the garden with an unusual shape in both plan and elevation. The centre, with its extended facilities, such as play rooms, a full catering kitchen, staff areas and support spaces, has broadened the level of childcare and support and become a point of reference within the local community.
