An installation at 100% Design, London in September 2014
Foam Dome was a temporary interactive installation for 100% Design’s Bathroom and Kitchens hub sponsored by Turkishceramics.
The experimental pavilion merges minimalist architectural elements with the sensorial and indulgent experience of foam.
Focusing on the theme of cleanliness and referencing luxurious spa environments, the unique pavilion is conceived in two contrasting parts, separated by a clear horizon: a monolithic gridded white tiled base for staging public interaction; and a lightweight suspended geodesic dome, from which foam is emitted.
The foam playfully descends over the thin mesh dome cladding into the sanitaryware below. A central bath is located directly under the dome’s oculus, encircled by white sinks that align with the outer edge of the dome above.
