Terrace and gazebo located in a Conservation Area in Southwark
The lightweight gazebo structure has been placed above an existing flat roof, which acts as the only terrace or garden space for the clients, who live on the first floor of a converted public house.
The aesthetic and functional qualities of metal have been explored to create ‘bands of light’, which provide an intimate yet focused relaxing area without completely enclosing the space. Glass perimeter guarding allows for privacy for the Clients, and new decking, planters and staircase access, all constructed in grappa timber, add warmth and colour to the completed design.
