Mountain biking facility at a quarry in north Wales
The architect was commissioned to develop plans for a new and unique mountain biking facility at Llechwedd quarry. Various options, including extending the existing facilities were discussed, and it was agreed that a new, exciting addition to the site was the preferred option.
To reduce costs and minimise environmental impact, the building has been built from waste slate from the site, is assisted by solar gain and has a grey water recycling system.
