Corporate headquarters for the Halifax building society on a geometrically irregular site
All the social accommodation, and the staff restaurants, which were intended for use out of hours, are grouped around the main entrance hall at ground and mezzanine levels.
The general open plan office accommodation, is on the third floor level. The traditionally planned fourth contains the directors' suite containing a boardroom, meeting rooms, lounge, dining room, and overnight accommodation, all of which was connected to perimeter offices via interlocking roof gardens of reflecting pools, sculpture, fountains, planting, and seating.
The automated storage area for a quarter of the country's title deeds and correspondence was situated below ground for maximum security.
