Healthcare, leisure and research centre that combines a range of facilities in a single building
The building's three users have separate but interlinked spaces to enable shared facilities and access.
The leisure and healthcare facilities are accessed from a shared main entrance. The NHS Bolton walk-in facility, comprises of a series of multi-functional consulting/clinical rooms, waiting areas and support facilities, spread across three floors. The council leisure amenities include a 25m long eight lane public swimming pool with a 250 seat poolside seating area and a further 250 seat gallery at first floor level, hydrotherapy pool, fitness suite, aerobics studio and gym.
The University of Bolton’s Centre for Research for Health and Wellbeing has a separate entrance and includes teaching and seminar space, an external to internal running track, sports rehabilitation facilities, a sports hall and four-storey climbing wall.
