Conversion of existing warehouse building into new design studio
Moon is a combined architecture and construction company. The conversion of a dis-used warehouse building into a new office space for the firm offered the opportunity to showcase their design ethos and construction skills.
The historic building to the front has been sensitively refurbished. The original timber gates have been retained with a new oak framed glazed screen constructed behind. The undercoft has been converted into a bright reception area with a solid oak stair rising up to the floor above.
The warehouse building to the rear has been re-built within the profile of the existing building to provide two floors of modern open plan office space. The rear wall is set back from the boundary to provide a small courtyard and the gable fully glazed to both floors achieving a view of the outside and allowing natural light to penetrate the back of the building.
