Contemporary country house set within twelve acres of elevated grounds on the banks of the River Thames in Berkshire

The house, which replaces a much smaller dwelling previously situated on the banks of the River Thames, is accessed via a pair of grand, Grade I Listed, metal gates. The drive leads to a completely enclosed flint-walled central-courtyard, which is surrounded by the two wings of the house and its out-buildings.

The house is accessed from the courtyard by crossing an enclosed reflecting pool that leads into a double height entrance space. This hall sits between two blocks of glazed single-aspect rooms that have far-reaching north-western views of the countryside.

The gardens immediately adjacent to the house incorporate an infinity edged swimming pool and a tennis court. The landscaping follows a simple, semi-formal layout which leads on to the extensive grounds and open-countryside beyond.
