Group of 15 affordable dwellings built within an existing Victorian tenement perimeter block
The development is accessed through a passageway within a new five-storey block of flats situated on Fore Street that maintains the scale of the adjacent tenements and completes the urban block.
This entrance leads to a parking court and communal green space, from which runs a pedestrian lane, which provides access to a series of two-storey houses and cottage flats.
The properties are arranged along either side of the lane, staggered in relation to the houses on the opposite side of the lane, giving the houses an outlook beyond their immediate neighbours towards the tenements on the far side of the block.
The spaces between the blocks are used as private courtyard gardens.
