Trade union headquarters including 47 residential units encompassing an entire city block facing Euston Road
The development on the site of the grade II listed former Elizabeth Garrett Anderson Women’s Hospital retains and incorporates the existing structures, that are arranged along with a stone clad nine-storey tower, around a central glass-roofed atrium.
This covered breakout space, designed for informal meetings ties together the various retained buildings on the site with the new additions including the concrete framed tower that stands on Euston Road.
The tower, along with the listed building, contains open-plan office space, TV and radio studios, press rooms, conference facilities, catering facilities and a large council debating chamber placed on ninth floor.
A public gallery that highlights the pioneering work of Elizabeth Garrett Anderson is located on the ground floor and 30 private flats, that are available to rent, as well as 17 affordable properties are placed in the adjoining low rise buildings.
The development achieved a BREEAM score of 73.53% rating Excellent.
