Shower room

This new utility area and downstairs shower room reduces the client’s reliance upon the stairs and creates easy access for a wheelchair.
A non-invasive design approach ensured that the clients remained in the property throughout the build.
Solutions that minimised site time and cost were favoured culminating in the use of a pre-fabricated structural insulated panel (SIP) frame, a helical pile foundation system, composite panel floor and an aluminium standing seam roof. The resulting extension is economical and thermally efficient. It is a contrasting contemporary addition to the existing 1960’s vernacular dwelling providing pleasant views of the garden to the west.
