Temporary exhibition within an existing office space
‘me & sam’ were appointed by The Stephen Lawrence Charitable Trust to design and co-ordinate an exhibition showcasing the work of it’s bursary students as part of ongoing events in conjunction with the 1818 campaign. Since its inception in 1998, the Trust has supported over 100 young people become architects and designers.
We developed a proposal that used shuttering ply, leant against the walls of the space. The glossy black finish of the industrial material provided a perfect backdrop for the students work. Viabizzunno provided high-spec light fittings free of charge; the combination of materials and lighting elevated the space into a dramatic gallery.
Hosted by Scott Brownrigg at their Covent Garden offices, the exhibition was installed in a single day. There was a budget of £500 and the installation was undertaken by ‘me & sam’ with the help of the exhibitors and volunteers.
