A double height glass extension links the rear ground floor living room with basement and garden

A typical Victorian terraced house with rear extension, there was no connection of the main living spaces with garden and kitchen in basement. The Client, Leanne Klein a film producer wanted to create family living rooms connected to the garden and new kitchen.

The McFarlane Partnership devised two ways of linking the space, a double height glass extension, a bite was taken out of the upper ground living room floor and a balcony inserted, creating a light well to basement kitchen

The design improved the flow of space along with the views and access to the garden designed by Lucy Sommers.
