Low density housing estate containing 125-homes arranged around four courts on the edge of Tilgate Forest
The site is on the south edge of Crawley overlooking forestry. Brief requirements called for a maximum of 60 inhabitants per acre and a garage and parking space for every house.
A basic cluster of 25 houses has been used. The houses are grouped around a central garage space with provision for a number of cars, which is attached to the access road by a vehicular access court with parking space for cars and service vehicles. Houses around the perimeter of the site are generally single storey, enabling views of the woodland from houses both on the inside and outside of the scheme.
In total there are six variations of accommodation ranging one-bedroom to four-bedroom houses over one or two floors.
The structure consists of traditional loadbearing blockwork and brickwork, strip footings and a flat-joisted roof.
