Internal remodeling and external recladding of a 22-storey grade II* listed 1960s tower block

The glass curtain walled block, which houses several arts departments at Sheffield University, was completely reclad.

Internally the tower was remodelled and fit out to provide flexibility of operation and use from administration purposes through to large readily adaptable studios.

Flexible teaching and studio space has been provided for the School of Architecture and the Department of Landscape. Sliding walls are used to divide the space allowing the interiors to be used in a variety of ways such as, exhibition, studio space, tutorials and seminars. In addition to the teaching and studio spaces, academic offices have been created along with tutorial space

he refit also included two basement floors containing lecture theatres and concourse, reconfigured to enhance suiting circulation and breakout opportunities.
