Contemporary and sustainable timber framed family home in a conservation area surrounded by Victorian houses
The wooden box contains 200 m2 of high-spec living space spread over three floors, built on a plot of 140 m2.
The solid spruce superstructure, which was manufactured offsite, is designed to improve thermal and acoustic performance and reduce the building’s carbon footprint.
On the road facade a timber screen sits in front of the glass curtain wall. The façade itself is clad with Siberian larch, specified for its natural persistence.
Windows are high-performance, argon-filled and double-glazed in timber framing. Natural ventilation is provided to all rooms.
