City museum set in a UNESCO World Heritage Site on the Liverpool dockside with opposing elevated viewscapes
Located at the UNESCO World Heritage Site between the Albert Dock and the Pier Head and next to the row of prominent historic buildings dubbed the ‘Three Graces'.
The museum lies along the Mersey River in the center of Liverpool, and will function as a nexus, in that it physically connects the Harbour promenade with the Albert Dock, which today contains restaurants, museums and boutiques.
Opposing sloping platforms that rise to shape the large panoramic viewscapes of the Mersey in one direction and the three graces in the other.
Large full height atrium with linking staircase represents the Nexus of the building which leads to the open galleries and exhibition areas.
The outdoor areas are a mix of winding slopes and seating with views to the water adding to the dynamic urban environment and serving as a meeting point for visitors.
