Refurbishment of four of the university's facilities, the Learning Centre, Tower, Central House and Moorgate buildings
Across all four facilities internal environments have been improved by the reorganisation of spaces, the upgrade of fixtures, finishes and furnishings, and the renewal of M&E services and lighting.
Each site is accentuated by a colour scheme, which is repeated in accompanying soft furnishings to aid navigation for students and visitors.
At the Learning Centre the library and adjacent computer room has been transformed into bright, calming and flexible workspaces. Existing walls were demolished to create and open plan working environment, implementing a variety of seating arrangements to cater for all studying methods.
In the Tower corridors and classrooms were refurbished a new and where possible student meeting areas inserted.
As part of the Moorgate Building is Grade II listed only minimal structural amendments were made due to the load-bearing vaulted arches. On the ground floor the interior space has been opened up, with the vaults converted into learning booths. The fifth floor of the postgraduate business school has been refurbished to create professional teaching rooms and breakout spaces.
At Central House the ground floor has been reorganised and provided with an entrance, gallery space and gym.
