Skate park and youth centre housed in a two storey building, sited to the south of the Mart Road Regeneration Area

The centre is split into two main sections, a double-height multi-purpose arena, which is used as a skate park, and a youth centre with cafe area. The building also includes a multi-media suite, rehearsal space, recording studio and exhibition space.

A glazed doorway and projecting canopy mark the building's entrance. The transparent and layered first floor polycarbonate façade comes alive at night with the colourchange LED lighting. Throughout the interiors and exteriors of the building, an orange and green colour palette is expressed against a neutral background of white walls and birch plywood timber lining panels.

The superstructure comprised a steel frame with precast planks, providing the clear large spans to the skate park and enabling rapid construction. The centre uses biomass (woodpellet) underfloor heating, and natural ventilation is used throughout.
