Fully glazed facade allows for internal views

Dyehouse and textile-manufacturing facility in a transparent glazed space
The building accommodates a state-of-the-art production centre for the group's automotive-quality upholstery yarns.
Internal clear spans allow for flexibility and expansion. The dyehouse forms one volume and the spin-hall forms the other, each articulated by a gentle curved roof. Storage and offices are absorbed within the two volumes. The constituent elements of the external envelope and modular, and enable compositional flexibility to internal organisation.
Composite metal panels and glazing units make up the cladding system. Full-height glazing on the south elevation allows natural light into the factory and displays the operations. Views to the surrounding parkland are provided from all habited spaces.
A steel-frame structure is used. Column-less space is provided by supporting the light-weight steel roof beams on columns running along the exterior elevations. On the southern elevation, the columns match the roof beams for aesthetic purposes.
