Refurbishment of a municipal arts centre in a converted Edwardian school with gallery, theatre, cinema and studio space for 60 artists
The refurbishment was carried out in phases in order to not compromise the centers homegrown, organic feeling and to not disrupt its facilities.
Through a series of remodeling, the refurbishment has managed to reorganise the building without extensive closure. Entrances and windows are cut out of the existing facades, a series of small spaces have been grouped to form a large foyer space.
The 'walk-through' plan is arranged to allow for complete circulation with separate entrance and exit.
