Reconfiguration and refurbishment of 100-year-old house on the Kent coast
The client, a ‘leading British figure in fine jewellery’ had set a brief to refurbish and reorganise their existing home and replace the former undefined entrance.
The completed extension uses sculptural forms wrapping from the dwelling's rear to the its side, providing a new one-and-a-half height entrance and first floor bedroom with panoramic views to the English Channel.
The home centres on a double-height gallery/living room, leading to separate dining and kitchen/garden rooms; creating a free flowing plan. The bespoke kitchen includes fossils embedded into work surfaces.
