Factory, showroom and offices to replace three outdated buildings, allowing for future planned expansion
The building is entered across a bridge into a glazed, circular reception area, which leads to a shallow barrel vaulted atrium.
This central access spine contains the kitchen, all the services, ducts, plumbing, and lifts and divides the buildings two main function, the single storey windowless warehouse to the west and the two storey offices to the east.
The office elevations are a simple grid of horizontally proportioned office windows, punctuated at regular intervals by semi-circular escape staircases and the grid of round concrete columns to the ground floor.
The warehouse is clad in horizontally ribbed silver aluminium. At the north-west corner, where the warehouse turns into the single-storey showroom the cladding turns to flat grey panels.
The offices are passively ventilated and naturally daylight penerates through large window openings.
