Extension to a Grade II listed hotel to provide additional hotel rooms, improved staff facilities and an enlarged kitchen

Located within the conservation area of Alkham, the extension replaces an existing cottage bungalow located on a steep site to the rear of the hotel and restaurant, that was previously refurbished by the same architects,

Through the use of locally sourced flint and Kent peg tiles reclaimed from the demolished cottage, the addition is designed to tie into its surroundings. It is connected to the original hotel by a link which is topped with a sedum roof.
