Renovation and remodel of a 1970s four bedroom detached house into a five bedroom house with a rear extension and loft conversion
Khoury Architects’ brief was to transform this 1970s detached house into a light, spacious and contemporary home that related closely with the outside and increased the number of bedrooms from four to five.
The site is located in the fashionable Birmingham commuter suburb of Harborne and surrounded by traditional Victorian houses. From site start to finish this project took 5 months. The internal layout was completely transformed both in plan and section creating an exciting open plan kitchen and living area overlooking landscaped gardens and a new courtyard. The entrance hall is now a triple height void containing walkways and balconies and is crowned by large rooflights affording clear views of the sky.
